GI tract Infections

GI tract infections refer to any infection that occurs in the digestive system. These infections can be caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites. The symptoms of GI tract infections include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever.

When it comes to managing GI tract infections, the doctor takes a comprehensive approach. The first step is to diagnose the specific infection by performing a physical examination and running tests. Once the diagnosis is made, Dr. Pikilidou will prescribe medication to treat the infection.

In addition to medication, the doctor also recommends that patients make dietary changes to aid in their recovery. This may include avoiding certain foods that can aggravate the infection and increasing fluid intake to prevent dehydration.

Also we emphasize the importance of good hygiene in preventing the spread of GI tract infections. This includes washing hands frequently and avoiding close contact with others who may be infected.

The symptoms in most cases alleviate a few hours after treatment. Book your appointment in the link below.
